The Wedding Day
Rachel & Joey’s wedding weekend began with a heartfelt rehearsal dinner and unfolded beautifully at Basil Place, where warm hospitality greets you at every turn. This is part of what makes Basil Place so special-the ability to host your entire wedding weekend in one thoughtfully designed space. From the first toast to the last dance, every moment was seamlessly woven into the beautiful surroundings.
On the morning of the big day, the bridal party gathered in the charming Carriage House on site, a serene and light-filled space perfect for getting ready. Wrapped in white robes, the bridesmaids sipped on mimosas and enjoyed the morning before the festivities began.
The bridesmaids stepped out in their perfectly pastel silk dresses, each one a soft, romantic hue that captured the essence of spring. Paired with delicate parasols, the look was both timeless and playful-an elegant nod to Southern charm with a fresh, modern twist. They took full advantage of the gorgeous grounds of Basil Place, where rolling lawns and manicured gardens made for an effortlessly beautiful backdrop. The bride stunned in a gown featuring delicate lace sleeves, perfectly complementing the garden setting and soft spring palette.
Outside, the ceremony space bloomed with stunning cascading florals-white lilies draped with bright green foliage, creating a fresh and romantic altar. The couple exchanged vows and then the reception began. Touches of green fruit on the reception tables added a textural, organic feel that tied the whole aesthetic together in the most refined way. Guests were treated to a delicious dinner catered by A Taste of Excellence, leaving everyone full, happy, and raving about every bite.
At each seat, guests found a customized tambourine, inviting them to quite literally bring the party to the dance floor. It set the tone for a night of celebration and high energy and the crowd didn’t disappoint.
The bridal party made a grand entrance that perfectly blended fun and fandom, shaking tambourines and holding up oversized cutouts of Detroit Lions players, instantly turning the reception into a roaring, stadium-worthy celebration. The crowd went wild, and the dance floor was packed from that moment on.
A few standout memories had guests talking long after the last song played. As the dance floor heated up, espresso martinis were passed out-an instant hit that kept the energy high and the party going strong. Later in the evening, Rachel surprised everyone with a perfect outfit change, trading her classic gown for a chic, dance-ready fit that was equal parts stylish and fun. And just when guests thought the night couldn’t get any better, the late-night snack Taco Bell arrived-because the best weddings end with crunchy tacos and cheesy goodness after hours of dancing.
Rachel & Joey’s Favorite Moment
Rachel spent months dreaming up and crafting the vision for her special day, and when asked about her favorite moment, she said it was “seeing the reception space for the first time and witnessing all the hard work come together.” There’s truly nothing like the feeling of taking it all in-knowing that all your hard work, along with the incredible effort of your vendor team, has paid off, and now you get to simply enjoy the moment.
