Week after week, we’re honored to feature extraordinary weddings from across Cleveland and Northeast Ohio—each one a testament to the creativity of talented vendors and the love stories that inspire them. Every so often, though, a celebration truly stops us in our tracks.
Nicole & Ryan’s February wedding was one of those unforgettable days.
Colorful. Whimsical. Joy-filled. Effortlessly meaningful. It was a celebration rooted in tradition, overflowing with personality, and centered around one simple goal: have the best time ever with the people they love most. From the very beginning, Nicole had a clear vision—an outdoor celebration at her parents’ home, the very backyard where she grew up. And she stuck to it. Nicole shares advice as she reflects on their day, “Stick to my vision! I always envisioned a colorful, outdoor day at my parents’ home as our wedding venue, and it really all came to life. There were times I wondered if we should’ve gotten married at a more traditional venue, but I really had a specific vision and I’m glad and appreciative that I was able to stick to it.”
That backyard transformed into a vibrant, joy-filled wonderland. Bright blooms and sunflowers by Plantscaping & Blooms felt like a natural extension of the landscape, blending seamlessly with the setting while adding bold pops of color. The florals tied beautifully into the watercolor signage sprinkled throughout the day—each detail layered with intention, artistry, and fun.
A sparkling disco ball installation set the tone for the dance floor, and a thoughtfully curated itinerary of events turned the wedding into a full weekend experience. It wasn’t just a day-it was a full on weekend celebration.
Nicole and Ryan are both Jewish, and their ceremony was filled with meaningful traditions. Nicole shared some special moments that tied their heritage and family together in their ceremony, “We are both Jewish, so had a traditional Jewish ceremony. It was really special to stand under our gorgeous chuppah, with tallit belonging to both of our grandfathers. We drank wine from the same cup my parents drank out of, and all of the kippahs at the ceremony were handmade by my mother-in-law. These special touches, highlighting our Judaism, and how important family is to us, really made the ceremony feel even more special.”
Nicole and Ryan had planned a tequila shot cart, delivered to the dance floor by their three brothers. By that point in the evening, the drinks had been flowing and the energy was high. Somewhere between the music and the movement, the cart…fell apart.
What happened next? Wedding legend. “We decided to take the tequila bottles, and start going around and pouring shots directly into people’s mouths. It was hilarious, silly, and so fun, which is exactly how I wanted the wedding to be. It was truly a celebration of love and fun, and I love looking back at that memory and laughing.” We love how these unplanned moments and seemingly off-script ones become the day’s most memborable.
Add in the bride and groom taking over the DJ booth, incredible food and service by A Taste of Excellence (candy bar, s’mores, and unforgettable hors d’oeuvres included), and a grand finale that ended with everyone jumping into the pool-and you have the kind of wedding that lives rent free in our heads forever.
We truly can’t get over every thoughtful detail and every vibrant pop of color that reflected the spontaneity and joy-filled love Nicole & Ryan share-not just with each other, but with every friend and family member who surrounded them that day.
Their wedding is the sweetest reminder that perfection isn’t about everything going exactly as planned. It’s about embracing whatever unfolds, leaning into the laughter, and celebrating wholeheartedly with the people who mean the most. When you’re wrapped in that kind of love, your day will be perfect-because it’s perfectly yours.
