Sophia & Nick’s wedding was a garden party dream come true. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Basil Place in Chardon, Ohio, this year’s Wedding of the Year was nothing short of magical. A picture-perfect garden party aesthetic, meaningful personal touches, and heartfelt celebration came together to create an unforgettable event that reflected not just the love between two people-but the deep community around them.

Basil Place proved to be the ideal venue. With its lush grounds, serene pond, and beautifully restored Carriage House, it offered a timeless setting with room for every moment-from morning preparations to the final dance.

The ceremony took place just in front of a tranquil pond, offering a serene, natural backdrop that looked straight out of a painting. The aisle, lined with romantic peach and pink florals by Hannah Caraballo Designs, led the way to the couple’s heartfelt “I do’s.”

This wedding stood out not just for its beauty, but for the way it wove friends and family into every detail. The couple’s best friend officiated the ceremony, adding a deeply personal touch to the vows. The groom’s father hand-built the bar for cocktail hour-an outdoor gathering beneath string lights where guests could mingle, sip, and explore the scenic grounds.

And in one of the most touching details of the evening, the couple wrote a personal letter to each guest, tucking it beneath their dinner seat. A quiet, intentional gesture that spoke volumes about how much each person’s presence meant to them. There were so many intentional moments throughout this wedding, including the bride’s mother and aunt serving as flower girls-bringing playfulness and warmth to the ceremony. The cookie table was another personal touch that had cookies lovingly made by friends and family-such a sweet way to include their guests!

Hannah Caraballo Designs truly outdid herself with floral installations that brought the garden theme to life in every corner. From the ceremony aisle to the reception space, each detail was lush, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. The bridesmaids wore mismatched garden-style dresses in soft pastels, echoing the florals and enhancing the dreamy outdoor vibe.

From start to finish, Basil Place provided the perfect canvas. Just as important as the scenery was the staff-whose warm hospitality made guests feel truly at home. A Taste of Excellence, the couple’s caterer, also lived up to its name. “Beyond just the meal,” the bride shared, “their service made our guests feel cared for and special.”

As the bride walked down the aisle to “At Last” performed live by Opus 216, her joy was written all over her face-literally. “In the pictures I’m smiling so big my eyes are closed,” she shared. “It was so happy.”

Another favorite memory? “Being announced into our ceremony. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt such a huge moment of joy and excitement!”

Intentionality was the guiding principle behind every vendor choice. “I was extremely intentional when choosing my vendors-not just for their work, but for who they were as people. It really paid off,” the bride said. “I heard all night how much people were enjoying themselves thanks to this team that came together.”

From its picturesque setting to its heartfelt details and joyful energy, this wedding wasn’t just a celebration of love-it was a celebration of community, intention, and the beauty of shared moments. A true testament to what can happen when stunning design and deep relationships come together in one perfect day.

Congratulations to Sophia, Nick & the vendor team for creating a wedding that will be remembered for years to come!
