Q&A with the Owner of So Bloom

1. What is So Bloom, and what does “full-service wedding design” actually
Include?

Full service with So Bloom means full floral, design, and planning services-every detail thoughtfully managed from start to finish. This is our complete wedding experience. While we are a floral and design studio at heart, planning is an equally important part of the experience.

When couples book us for full floral, design, and planning services, we oversee both the creative direction and the logistical structure of the wedding. This includes concept development, custom floral design, table-scape styling, and spatial layout. Along with comprehensive planning support such as vendor communication, timeline creation, budget guidance, floor plan management, and full wedding weekend coordination. We ensure the design is not only beautiful, but supported by a clear, organized plan behind it. Nothing is left disconnected.

Every decision, from your bouquet to your timeline, is made with intention so the wedding feels cohesive, elevated, and seamlessly executed. For couples who need a different level of support, we also offer floral-only services, as well as florals with design direction. No matter the level of service, our approach remains intentional and design-led.

2. Who is So Bloom best suited for?

So Bloom is best suited for the couple who needs design guidance and wants a cohesive wedding from beginning to end.
Our couples:
• Care deeply about how the wedding feels
• Value aesthetics and atmosphere
• Want design direction rather than piecing details together themselves

Our style carries a European and Middle Eastern influence; romantic, layered, textural, and refined. We love traditional, classic weddings, but we also enjoy bringing creativity to celebrations that are distinctive and unique. The common thread is intention and cohesion.

3. What if I don’t know my wedding style yet?

That is completely okay… and very common! Most couples come to us knowing what they like, but not knowing how to define it. We guide you through that discovery process. Conversation, inspiration, and thoughtful direction, can help you understand what you are drawn to and refine it into a clear aesthetic. You do not need to have it figured out. That is part of what we are here for.

4. How do you create a cohesive design for the entire wedding day?

Cohesion comes from intention. We start with a strong foundational idea, a feeling, an aesthetic, a palette. We build everything from that central vision. Each layer supports the next: florals, linens, candles, stationery, layout, focal installations etc. Rather than selecting pieces randomly, we design with purpose. The result is a wedding that feels balanced, thoughtful, and immersive from ceremony through reception.

5. What does the process look like from start to finish working with you?

This depends on the services you book, as every client experience is customized.
• Florals only: Typically 2–3 meetings
• Design + florals: Usually 3–5 meetings
• Full florals, design, and planning: Ongoing meetings throughout the planning process

The number of meetings also depends on how involved you would like to be. Some couples prefer to be highly collaborative, while others prefer to trust us to lead. Both approaches work beautifully.

A typical process includes:
1. Initial consultation
2. Concept development and proposal
3. Design refinement meetings
4. Vendor collaboration and planning oversight (if applicable)
5. Final details meeting (4–8 weeks before the wedding)
6. Production, installation, and coordination

All major design decisions are ideally finalized 4–8 weeks prior to the wedding to allow for sourcing, ordering, and final logistics.

6. Where should we prioritize spending for the biggest visual/design impact?

This depends on what feels most important to you and where you want attention drawn! We typically recommend prioritizing statement areas that all guests will see, such as:

• The sweetheart or head table
• The bar design
• A ceremony backdrop
• An installation above the dance floor

Not every piece needs to be a statement. Strong focal moments create impact and elevate the entire space. When the main areas are thoughtfully designed, the overall experience feels luxurious without over-designing every corner.

7. How does investing in design direction save money in the long run?

Clear design direction prevents unnecessary spending. Without a defined vision, couples often add pieces that do not align, duplicate décor elements, or change direction midway through planning…which increases costs. When the design is intentional from the beginning:
• You avoid impulse rentals
• You eliminate redundant décor
• Vendors work efficiently toward one shared vision
• Your budget is allocated strategically rather than emotionally

Design direction ensures your investment is focused where it matters most, rather than spread thin across details that do not elevate the overall experience.

8. Do you offer floral preservation? How long does it take? When should I decide if I want to do floral preservation?

Yes, we offer floral preservation for our couples. The process typically takes about four months, as preservation is delicate and detail-oriented. You should decide prior to the wedding so we can plan accordingly and properly handle your florals immediately after the event.

9. What makes your approach different from other florists?

We specialize in florals and design, but we also offer planning and coordination. That integration sets us apart. We are design-led. Florals are not treated as standalone pieces , they are part of a larger visual and experiential story. Because we understand both design and logistics, we are able to ensure the vision is not only beautiful but executed flawlessly. Our European and Middle Eastern influence brings depth, layering, and romance to our work. We honor traditional, classic weddings while also embracing creativity when designing more distinctive events. At So Bloom, we are not just arranging flowers, we are curating an atmosphere!

From Mood Board to Reality

Whether you’re a bride who wants to be deeply involved in sourcing every detail or someone who prefers to hand over the reins and trust an expert-So Bloom meets you where you are.
